Mohamad EL-HADIDI
filmmaker
An Egyptian filmmaker and a freelance photographer who was born in Alexandria in 1986.
He studied independent filmmaking in the Jesuits filmmaking workshop in 2009/2010. He worked as a cameraman and a 3rd AD in Ibrahim El Batout’s feature ‚ÄúHawi‚Äù in 2011. He worked as a 1st AD and DP in many Egyptian documentaries and short films. His short film « Alban Wady El¬≠Neel » was awarded the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Plaza grant for short films for 2012 and the best short film award in the 9th rencontres de l’image Film Festival in Cairo in 2013. He produced the short films « 17 Fouad Street » directed by Ahmed Nabil which won the Best Short Documentary award in the 10th rencontres de l’image Film Festival in Cairo and « El Bostan El Saeed Street » directed by Maysoon El Massry in 2014 which won « Radwan El Kashef » award in Luxor African Film Festival in 2014.
He participated in many photography exhibitions and got many prizes (Google Photography Prize, European Union Prize and Egypt Photo Marathon First Prize). In 2013 he made his first feature film « The Mice Room » which was premiered in Dubai International film festival and co-¬≠founded Rufy’s ; an independent film house and a self funded initiative that supports independent filmmakers in Alexandria.
