Independent journalist, Algiers

Samy Abderguerfi studied communication and interactive media with a specialisation in cultural mediation. He is the co-founder and former chief editor of the francophone cultural webzine Vinyculture.

Since December 2011, he is the co-founder and member of the working group on cultural policy in Algeria where he is a co-project manager and speaker on issues related to cultural mediation and the democratisation of access to culture and audience development.

He is co-secretary general of the association A.C.D.C (Association pour la Culture et le Développement Communautaire). Since December 2010, he is also head of project of a charity organisation that raises awareness on HIV/AIDS (Concert: Du son contre le SIDA). He was a press secretary for the international festival of Comics of Algiers.

Since 2009, Samy Abderguerfi is a freelance cultural journalist specialised in world music. He has collaborated with OnOrient, Vinyculture, Ubu Mag, GreatSong, VitamineDz, Jam Mag etc.
